Our story began in September 2016, when our founder recognized that many children in our community were going without enough food on weekends and during school breaks.
Starting in our founder’s dining room, we began creating food packages for 19 kids at 6 schools. With the volunteer support and financial support of our community, we grew to 950 children and 50 schools in 2022. That’s 40 weekends of the year, and 90 days of school breaks supporting children’s unique nutritional needs.
But it doesn’t stop there.
Now, we support 1,400+ children from 129 schools across the Waterloo region.
The well being of children is the centre of our focus. We ensure accessibility and inclusiveness, while advocating for the elimination of food insecurity.
Collaborative
We support our community without bias or prejudice. Collaboration allows us to be resourceful and creative in engaging with partners to improve effectiveness.
Caring
Compassion is vital to our operation, as we care for the well-being of others in health and dignity.
Accountable
The children we serve and the greater community can count on us to deliver our program with integrity and accountability.
Outcome-Focused
Our impact on children’s outcomes matters as much as the ensured sustainability of our program.
